Some Major Activities of the Centre

1. Organized International Seminar on Population Aging in India, Trivandrum, 1986
   This was the First All India Conference on aging in India
   
   
2. Organized International Congress on Aging, Trivandrum 1996.
   
   
3. Organized several national and state level conferences, seminars and workshops on aging.
   
   
4. Actively involved in the programmes of the International Association of Gerontology & Indian Federation on Ageing
   
   
5. Prepared the draft for the State Policy on Older Persons, Goa 2002.
   
   
6. Prepared the full-fledged Kerala State Policy on Older Persons for the Government of Kerala. The policy document was accepted in toto by the state and announced in 2006.
   
   
7. Undertook several research projects on aging for ICSSR, GOI Ministries and World Organizations including WHO.
